Antiseptic chlorhexidine-impregnated paraffin gauze dressing
BACTIGRAS is a gauze of leno weave impregnated with White Soft Paraffin BP containing 0.5% Chlorhexidine Acetate BP in a sterile presentation.
BACTIGRAS is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative wound pathogens, including MRSA. BACTIGRAS is for use as a topical treatment only. It is indicated for a wide range of wounds where there is a risk of infection. For already infected wounds, BACTIGRAS may be used in conjunction with systemic antibiotics.
The BACTIGRAS tulle gras dressing, made from an open-weave gauze, has low adherence and allows the wound to drain freely into an absorbent secondary dressing.
Bactrigras acts as a barrier between the wound and a secondary dressing such as Melolin low adherent wound dressing, allowing wound fluid to pass into the absorbent secondary dressing. The chlorhexidine acetate antiseptic is slowly released from the dressing, giving long lasting action against a range of bacteria.
